Nick French

I've been a Head Boys Basketball Coach since 2004, and the Head Coach at Whitney since 2013.  I have been coaching high school basketball since 2002. My biggest influences have been my own former basketball coaches.  My high school basketball coach (Vance Walberg) was a very important influence in my life.  He taught me so much about the game of basketball but also what it meant to be a member of a team, how to be a leader and how to push myself to be the best.  I was also blessed to have worked with and tutored by other amazing coaches. Peter Sharkey, Steve Perkovich, and Tony Amundsen. I believe in putting our team in the best position to be successful.  Our system is set in a way that our Whitney Athletes can best use their talents to the best of their ability.  We always want to Play Hard, Play Smart, Stay Together and Have Fun.  I also believe that our program has become successful because of the culture we have created.  We are all about doing what is best for the team, the program and our school.  We are not concerned with personal accolades but more concerned with what is best for the group.   When I am not coaching I love to spend time with my family and friends we have made in Rocklin.  My wife Kathy and I have 3 crazy little boys that take up all of our time! Jordan, Kaleb, and Derek are all excited about one day becoming Whitney Wildcats.
