Whitney’s Wildcats, who in their first year of competition the Sierra Foothill League walked off with the league and Division I Sac-Joaquin Section softball championship, head the list of players tagged to the All-SFL team after a vote by the league’s coaches. Leading the Whitney representation on the All-SFL squad was league MVP Mazie Macfarlane. She was joined on the squad by her sister Makenzie Macfarlane, Nia Trinidad, Claire Stover and Montanah Hermosillo. Del Oro landed three players on the squad, including Amanda DuPriest, Michalah Robison and Jenna Birch. Four players from Rocklin were tagged to the team, including Taylor Fitzgerald, Claudia Kirchner, Jordan Tressler and Jayla Castro. The team was rounded out by Lindsay Poulos and Emma Vincent of Granite Bay, Leah Polson, Reagan Hunt and Ashley Schnars of Oak Ridge, and Dakota Kennedy, Shelby Pfeiler, Jazlyn Kalehuawehe and Emma Falen of Folsom. Sierra Foothill League champion Folsom led the way for selections to the 2019 All-League baseball team, which was recently announced by league commissioner Steve Thornton. The team included 21 players who were selected in a vote of the league’s coaches. Folsom’s All-SFL choices included league MVP CJ Hutton, Drake Digiorno, Jacob Lynch, Ryan Stafford and Tyler Agnew. Oak Ridge landed six players on the squad including Nate Hansen, Tino Bethancourt, Brayden Tester, Will Crookham, Zack Adamson and Will Curtis.
