The Whitney Wildcats have stayed one of the hottest teams in the area after another tournament win off the California Coast. Ryan King was named the MVP of the Carmel Invitational and Dom Spence was added to the All-Tournament Team as Whitney took down Monterey 65-50, Aptos 67-48 and Carmel 68-66 in overtime to claim its second straight weekend tournament title. After winning the Battle of the Foothills at Ponderosa High last weekend, the Wildcats defeated Roseville 60-46 Dec. 17 before heading down to play some of the top Central Coast Section teams in Carmel. Whitney (12-1), who has won nine straight heading into Christmas week, heads even farther south this weekend for the San Diego Surf & Slam Tournament.
