Micah Childress
I have always had a love for the game of tennis. My introduction into the formal sport started the summer prior to my freshman year of high school in 1992. I then entered into the well-respected tennis program of Gladewater High School in Northeast Texas, where I learned the payoff of hard work and determination. During my senior year, I was fortunate to realize a second-place title in the Texas State 3A doubles final of 1996.
I then chose an academic route through college and then resumed competitive tennis play in 2000 that saw USTA and USPTA league championships throughout the next 3 years. Following licensure as a Registered Nurse in 2004, I continued to play intermittently while working full-time in emergency departments throughout the southern United States.
Being a part of the Whitney High Tennis Program is an honor and privilege, and I strive to be a positive role model in both game and character.
