Whitney high schools sent three teams to the 31st annual State Cross-Country Meet at Woodward Park in Fresno Nov. 25.

The Thunder boys placed No. 15 in the Division II 5k event.

Trevor Asbury crossed the finish line in 51st place to lead the Storm. The junior’s time was 16:32, a little more than a minute behind the winning time of 15:17.

Following Asbury were Andrew Craft (55th, 16:36), Shane Burton (83rd, 16:55), Justin Ferraro (91st, 16:57) and Bennett Woodward (93rd, 17:00). Aiden Rainey and Brendan Dowling completed the seven-member team.

The Rocklin girls came in 20th, led by junior Pearl Burton (67th, 19:46). She was supported by Marie Navarro (82nd, 19:56), Elle Knorzer (107th, 20:37), Alyssa Tremblay (111th, 20:42) and freshman Annalise Gonzales (128th, 21:10). Also running were Anne Fey and Emma Bickford.

WHITNEY

The Wildcats were 17th in the Division II boys race.

Sophomore Ethan Dodge came in 48th in a time of 16:39. Trailing him were Austin Vasquez (64th, 16:42), Austin Shields (98th, 17:02), Josh Tajri (100th, 17:03) and Josh Kling (110th, 17:15). Brenden Jacoby and Jordan Knoblock were Whitney’s sixth and seventh runners.

Vasquez, Tajri and Jacoby are sophomores.

WESTERN SIERRA

The girls team from Western Sierra Collegiate Academy placed 20th in Division V.

The Wolves’ team was made up of Sara Sabra (14th, 19:37), Rhiannon Repetti (71st, 21:18), Hayley Repetti (131st, 23:40), Cassidy Call (141st, 24:08) and senior Anna Black (152nd, 26:30). Dominique Leibman also ran.
